National School Sport Week at Home

Dartford Grammar School for Girls had an excellent week in June celebrating National School Sports Week, with students engaging in a week of virtual sporting challenges.

With young people to miss out on their main school sports day this summer, the Youth Sports Trust took its annual National School Sports Week campaign beyond the school gates to parents and families at home.

Students created their own plans of the different sporting challenges they would like to participate daily with their families, and over virtual meetings to keep active!

It was a superb week! It was outstanding to see the students using their creativity and innovation to celebrate sport and PE through a week of challenges. Students could choose from a range of activities from track and field, team sports and artistic challenges throughout the week.

What shone out from our school community was the power of sport to unite people through these unprecedented times. We passionately believe that sport and play can bring life- changing benefits for all young people supporting their well-being, building life skills such as confidence, resilience and determination.
