The Great Non British Bake Off

As part of Culture Week, students were invited to enter a cake baking competition by the Modern Foreign Languages department. Their brief was to bake a cake that represented their country of origin.

25 girls in Years 7 and Year 8 took part in the competition producing professional standard cakes at home and bringing them to ML7 for the judging which took place on Friday 28th February.

Many congratulations to Serena 7C who made a fantastic, artistic creation of a plate of noodles and chopsticks, complete with prawns and mange-touts. Tremendous amounts of skill and patience mixed with a creative eye for detail were among the ingredients clearly!  In Second Place was Aliya 7H, who created a traditional Nigerian wedding cake.
