National Citizen Service Trust (NCS) Champion School

We were delighted to receive a certificate and a Gold Award this week from the Prime Minister to confirm that we are an NCS Champion School for 2019. The NCS experience is a national programme for 16-17 year old young people which brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. It encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication. Participants develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they’re passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community. Each year many of our Year 11 students participate and gain hugely from the experience.
