Young Reporters Awards 2018

Princess’ poppies win Best Photo award

Congratulations to Princess 10I who has won the Best Photo category of the Young Reporters' Award after completing 8 months of work experience on the online edition of local newspapers organised by Newsquest. Her winning photo of the ceramic poppy installation created by staff and students at DGGS accompanied her article about the Remembrance Day memorial.

Along with winners and runners-up of other categories, she attended the Award ceremony at Newsquest’s Quadrant House headquarters in Sutton on 28th June and was presented with her framed certificate from Managing Editor, Andrew Parkes.

She also received a Waterstones' gift card and a Young Reporters' hoodie. All the winners and those that were Commended or Highly Commended were congratulated on their achievement and treated to a buffet before travelling home.
