Introduction to the Virtual Sixth Form Open Event

I would like to warmly welcome you to our Virtual Open Event for entry to our Sixth Form in September 2022.

As the very proud Headteacher of Dartford Grammar School for Girls, I believe that the education we provide is very special and I feel privileged to lead our fantastic school community.

Whilst we are unable to welcome everyone in person this year, we hope that the videos and information will give you an insight into our unique Sixth Form and school – our ethos, our values and what it is like to be a Sixth Form student here.

Moving on from GCSE examinations into Sixth Form is such an important step towards the next chapter in your academic journey.  We very much believe that great teaching and excellent relationships are essential for success.  With our enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Sixth Form team as well as highly committed and experienced teaching staff we will challenge and support you to ensure you meet your potential.  Our curriculum has been shaped to support you no matter what your plans are for the future.  Our Sixth Form space is purposefully designed to provide you with a range of working environments to enable you to become an effective independent learner with the skills you need for university and the workplace.

We know how important it is for you to be supported in becoming a well-rounded individual who has developed a wide range of personal, interpersonal and broader skills which both employers and universities value, so part of our curriculum is dedicated to this.  We also want you to have fun on your journey, make lifelong friends and be an active member of DGGS. Various events take place across the year, some of which are exclusive to the Sixth Form and others involve the whole school community.
