Amongst the performances were: Whole School Choir, Chamber Choir, Gospel Choir, Middle School Wind Ensemble, Middle School String Ensemble, Clarinet Ensemble, Early Music Concert, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band and various solos. The standard of performance was exceptional with the Orchestra tackling difficult works such as Tchaikovsky’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and Faure’s ‘Pavane’. The Jazz Band had everyone’s feet tapping with their blazing performance of ‘Hoagy Carmichael in Concert’ and the ever popular ‘Instant Concert’. The Early Music Consort charmed us with their interpretation of Bach’s ‘Double Violin Concerto in D Minor’ and Bach’s beautiful ‘Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring’. The evening was a great success and Mr and Mrs Dowsett wish to thank all the pupils who performed and the very appreciative audience.
