About Us

Dartford Grammar School for Girls is a very successful school founded over one hundred years ago. We aim to preserve traditional values while preparing students for life in the 21st century. Staff create the conditions for both academic success and individual development.

The curriculum is designed to enable students to develop their interests. The extensive enrichment programme also encourages students to work together on a variety of projects in different settings. Academic rigour within our caring community creates a combination which enables students to achieve their full potential. We aim to develop self-discipline and a community which displays care and consideration for others.

As each student progresses through the school we encourage her to analyse her strengths and study for a wide range of qualifications during her time at the school. The first GCSE examinations are taken in year nine after a two year Key Stage 3. Successes are recognised through a series of rewards and in celebration assemblies. The academic year finishes with an achievement ceremony, and in December we recognise the academic achievements at our Prize Ceremony.
